Douglas W. Diamond, a professor of finance at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, is one of three winners of this year's Nobel Prize in Economics. Considered a founder of modern banking theory, he also serves as an Independent Director for Dimensional Fund Advisors, overseeing mutual funds. "Professor Diamond is the fifth academic with deep connections to Dimensional to receive the Nobel Prize. Three founding members of the board of directors of the company or the company’s funds—Eugene Fama, Merton Miller, and Myron Scholes—previously received the award. Robert Merton, currently the firm’s Resident Scientist, is also a Nobel laureate." We are so proud to be a part of this tradition of connection to esteemed scholars, who continue to build innovative research-driven investment solutions for us and our clients.
