On June 1, 2017, our hardworking team of 14 spent an afternoon of community service at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation’s Demonstration Garden. It was an enjoyable day spent together working in the garden, learning about the Laguna watershed, and giving back to our local community. We were tasked with moving 10 cubic yards of mulch to various areas of the garden in order to protect the native plants from the summer heat. We also pulled weeds, moved stones, and assisted with other landscaping tasks to help maintain and prepare the garden for drier weather. The Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 1989 with the mission to restore and conserve the Laguna de Santa Rosa and to inspire public appreciation of the wetland.
